Multi Skilled Engineer / Craftsperson

(With key Class C1 Driving duties)

 

PERMANENT - FULL TIME


SALARY :  Negotiable up to £28100 pa

 

LOCATION:  Based in Amersham, Buckinghamshire

Operating throughout the UK  and occasionally overseas. 

 

DRIVING LICENCE REQUIRED:

Applicants must have a full UK driving licence including Cat – C1 (for 7.5T Trucks)

Info: Cat C1 was automatically applied to 'car' driving licences issued in the UK prior to 1st Jan 1997 but requires a separate test for licences issued after that date.

 

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Due to rapid growth, we are expanding our multi-skilled workshop team, working in the design, manufacture and delivery of our world leading range of event equipment.  We are seeking individuals who are practical in nature and prefer being hands-on.  They must also have the flexibility and a 'can do' attitude.

 

The successful applicant will join our workshop team working with a vast range of materials and techniques including with metals, timber, plastics and composites.  Our team constantly adapt to new skills, techniques and equipment to ensure that innovation runs through everything we do and that all our equipment performs to the highest possible standards.

 

The role also includes development to work as part of an event ‘team’.  The successfully applicant will drive (C1) equipment to event venues and assist in its assembly and the ‘delivery’ of the activity.

 

Full training will be provided, but applicants must have a general aptitude for creative work and some core hands-on skills which while not necessarily formalised or qualified will enable them to rapidly develop skills in new and more advanced areas.

 

Successful applicants will be:

 

  • Capable and (C1) licensed to transport systems and staff to and from an event location (typically a 7.5 tonne truck, box van and trailer)

  • Experienced in the use of commonly used hand and power-tools.

  • Have an appreciation of basic vehicle mechanics and mechanical assembly.

  • Able to maintain flexibility and enthusiasm to constantly innovate and adopt new skills, techniques and materials to keep our business at the leading edge of the events industry.

  • Ability to assist in the assembly of large event equipment. Able to work in various environments including regular work outdoors.

Also fundamental is Reliability & Punctuality – In our industry there is no room for anything other than exceptional Reliability and Punctuality – Please do not apply for any role unless you can demonstrate a proven record of unblemished attendance and timekeeping.

Practical Skills that would be desirable, but not essential as full training will be given:

Mechanics (vehicle or machinery),  Vehicle Bodywork, Coachwork, Welding,  HGV Bodybuilding, Sign-making & Wrapping, Wiring Installation, Set building, Painting and decorating, Electrical Assembly, Intricate Soldering, Electrical Diagnostics (with multimeter) / Basic GRP (Fibreglass) Laminating, Creating Engineering Drawings, Carpentry, IT skills etc.  Applicants processing skills or experience in these or any other areas that would seem relevant should highlight and detail this information in their application.
