Trainee Engineer / Crafts person / Workshop Team Member

 

Full Time.

 

Salary negotiable (based on experience) in the range (£NMW - £19k pa + overtime)

 

In this role we are seeking an ambitious individual to ultimately develop into a Multi-skilled Hands-on Craftsperson who will assist in the construction of our unique range of equipment. Based in Amersham, Buckinghamshire.

 

ROLE DESCRIPTION

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast growing, unique and very highly regarded company. We are keen to hear from applicants who are eager to gain new skills and abilities including, but not limited to carpentry, engineering, mechanics, physical IT, welding, electrics, plumbing, laminating, painting and finishing.  The successful applicant will be trained in the correct use of a full range of power tools and workshop machinery working with varied materials to the highest standard and finish.

 

In this hands-on role, the successful applicant will be highly motivated to take advantage of full training from our skilled team in order to make rapid progression.   They will already have a general aptitude for creative work and some core hands-on skills which while not necessarily formalised or qualified will enable them to rapidly develop skills in new and more advanced areas.

ATTRIBUTES & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

Experience in the use of commonly used hand and power-tools.

 

An appreciation of basic vehicle mechanics and mechanical assembly.

 

Flexibility and enthusiasm to constantly innovate and adopt new skills, techniques and materials to keep our business at the leading edge of the events industry.

 

A full clean driving license.

 

(experience of driving larger vehicles, including vans and trucks and trailers would be an advantage - please ensure any experience in this area is clearly stated in any application).

 

Ability to assist in the assembly of large event equipment. Able to work in various environments including regular work outdoors.

Additional Skills that would be desirable, but not essential as full training will be given:

Mechanics (vehicle or machinery), Wiring Installation, Electrical Assembly, Intricate Soldering / Vehicle Bodywork, Coachwork, Welding, HGV Bodybuilding / Electrical Diagnostics (with multimeter) / Basic GRP (Fibreglass) Laminating, Creating Engineering Drawings, Carpentry, IT skills
